Description

Expert living historians bring London’s incredible past to life exclusively for the Chelsea History Festival’s closing weekend.

Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the past. One minute you’ll be chatting with a Roman, or a Celt from Boudicca’s warlike host. The next, you’ll be talking to a Victorian or Great War soldier.

Discover how the Saxons and Vikings changed the way the great City was built, and learn how the invading Normans established a military dictatorship. Train in medieval combat at our Plantagenet-era Sword School before travelling down the street to meet Tudor, Georgian and Victorian citizens of London. Speak to servicemen and women from the First and Second World War before snapping back to the present day to meet soldiers who are currently serving in the British Army.

The History Village is free to visit. Drop in throughout the weekend to take a step back into our past.
